DAVID BENJA VISUAL IDENTITY
Danish producer DAVID BENJA wanted a new logo and colorscheme to go along with his efforts to invade the music world. The whole visual identity will be showcased later - for now, here's a preview...

VERTICAL RIVER
Currently working on a project in cooperation with Pålsson Architects. They're renewing a series of buildings in Nordvest (Cph.) and putting up new glass facades. A large shape we've designed will be implemented on these new facades.
The design builds on the fact, that under the streets runs an old river called Ladegårds Å, and it will stretch across 5 high-rises as one large graphic wave referring to this particular piece of local history. The project will be not be realized until next year, but a visualization has been made in order for people to see, what the buildings will look like in the future.

GET LOST BOOK
A new book by the Danish Architecture Center takes a look at alternative ways to utilize public space. They chose to put one of our projects in there, SKÆVE BØRN I SMØLFELAND. The book as a whole documents and builds on the non-centralized art exhibition GET LOST, which was running in Copenhagen in 2008.

WALK AND SHOOT!
Martin is in New York walking and shooting photographs these months, as he tends to do every once in a while. If we know him well enough, he will have used up several pairs of shoes already, filled a couple of harddiscs with raw material and become just a little bit malnourished from frequenting the same greasy diners over and over again.

WORKSHOP: ALTERNATIVE DESIGN METHODOLOGY
We´re doing a workshop at The Danish Design School (www.dkds.dk) for three weeks. It´s a "crash-course in alternative design methodology and experiences-based research" - an introduction to a system of methods for creative work and "re-thinking", that we've developed over the past 7 years. It's truly fun and these students are inspiring indeed!... But more about the content and results of the course later...we're only just finishing the research phase now.

The people behind the climate event 'Park The Car' asked us to do a piece for their big night last saturday. BACK TO SCHOOL
We're going to be teaching two courses on alternative design methodology at Danmarks Designskole (The Danish Design School) this fall and the following spring. Very exiting! The themes, that we've developed for the respective courses, have the following headlines: 'The magic of the in-between' and 'The city's biodiversity'. Both courses are about method, experience-based research and radical re-thinking of the design function.

TATTOOS AND T-SHIRTS
Can't escape the hip-hop culture! The new store 'Brooklyn 10' in the middle of Copenhagen asked us to create a visual identity for them. The store has both street wear and a tattoo parlor. Since these guys love New York enough to name their shop after a borrough within it, we thought we'd incorporate our favorite symbol of this gritty city in the design: the cockroach.

FLOW VIDEOS
Getting into video a bit more, we've just finished an animated slideshow containing images from Martins photo documentary from two housing projects in New York, USA. The series is called 'Welcome to the projects - coming from outside' - a reflection of the fact that he, a white middle class guy, goes to a place, where he is basically neither wanted nor accepted and tries to document social circumstances in these communities. The video was published by the e-magazine FLOW.
We're currently working on two additional videos for the FLOW site. They will be published this summer. The first is about one of our SKAEVE BOERN projects, and the other about Tivoli tourism.

TEACHING AT KRABBESHOLM
Seems the journey wasn't over just yet. We've recently returned from a week of teaching at the folk school Krabbesholm in Jutland, which specializes in design, architecture and art. The workshop contained an introduction to the concept of 'social design' - and was extended with a project workshop, where the students developed their own concepts and products, taking a starting point in the overall theme: initial personal encounters and the complex social mechanisms that come to play in that context. This theme, of course, interplayed with their own situation, in which they meet so many new people and inescapably become part of a temporary, but very intense, social environment. The course ended with a local exhibition of the respective projects and of course a clubnight in downtown Skive.

SKÆVE BØRN ON TOUR
Having travelled around the country giving talks on 'social design' - including our own SKÆVE BØRN projects - we return to the office for more work. The talks were given in a variety of institutions and with people from very different professions. These institutions include: 'The Scandinavian Design School', 'Daghøjskoleforeningen', 'Krabbesholm Folk School' (- for architecture, design and art), 'Kompetencehuset' (Competence-building institution), 'KBH Film & Foto Skole' (Copenhagen Film & Photography School) and (the Danish university) R.U.C.'s conference on marginalization: 'Festival På Tværs'.
